This piece exists as both a still image and a video. In planning the makeup for this shoot, I wanted the spikes to form triangles above the brow, reminiscent of the over-exaggerated eye shapes that are present in conventional drag makeup. This intends to draw the viewer's eye in the direction of the subject's eyes, despite the busyness of the changing hues.

// may i learn my lessons lightly represents the resilience of the individual to remain consistent despite dynamic, ever-changing surroundings. Although the subject is static and does not change, specific hues from the environment are present on the subject's skin. Thus, the individual is inextricably linked to its environment. I simply wish for the process of integration -- of environment and self -- to be a process that is kind and that leaves me with the most beautiful of hues.
